We are very pleased to announce that although Darwen Golf Club did not win the Golf Club Of The Year 2009, we did receive an official commendation, which made us runners up, the nominees, which included the Belfry, (who didn't get a mention) were announced at the prestigious black tie Awards Dinner held at the Manchester Palace Hotel on November 25th 2009.

As this was our first time of trying, receiving a commendation was indeed a great achievment by everyone involved in the successful running of Darwen Golf Club, we are fast being recognised as one of the best golf courses in the North West area, a reputation which we intend to build on in the future.

The Club was supported at the dinner by a number of members and their wives, who enthusiastically cheered the club on during the proceedings, although in vain we thank them most sincerely for their support.
